Patrick O’Connell, Jr., 60, of Depot Road, passed away Thursday evening, March 7, 2019 at Saratoga Hospital following a long illness.

Born on June 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Patrick and Agnes (VanGuilder) O’Connell, Sr.

Patrick was a maintenance man at various motels in the area including at The Heritage Motel in Lake George where he was employed for several years prior to his retirement in 2005.

On March 17, 2004 he married his companion of 18 years, Teresa Millington Westervelt.

Patrick enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and darts.

He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Patrick “Cleaver” O’Connell III; siblings: Patricia Condon, Joan O’Connell, James O’Connell and Joyce Hammond.

Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa O’Connell; his children Victoria Franklin of Tennesee, Jessica Westervelt of Corinth, Jennifer (Mike) Westervelt of Corinth, Bertram Westervelt of Corinth, Jonathan (Roni) Westervelt of Corinth; seven grandchildren with another on the way; one great grandchild; siblings: Barb (Pete) Mallie of Thurman, Gail Raimondi of Lake Luzerne, Tina Curl of Lake Luzerne, Gina (Bob) Baker of Glens Falls; Michael (Mariam) O’Connell of North Carolina, Ed O’Connell of Vermont; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Monday from 1-2 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.

A prayer service will be conducted at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Patrick’s memory may be directed to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr. #100, Albany, NY 12205.

Private burial will take place later in the spring at Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
