Mark Vaillancourt Obituary

Day, NY

Mark Vaillancourt 60, passed away suddenly Saturday April 7, 2018

Mark grew up in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. His parents are Jack and Lillian (Aug) Vaillancourt. Mark met his wife Carol (Hines) in the 70's at the Day Country Store. They married June 4th 1983 and have lived in Day ever since.

Mark was a gifted master mechanic and started his career with Dan Barclay Trucking and Corbett Rigging before moving north to work for Wilton Service Center. Mark was currently working for DeJana formerly known as Arrowhead Equipment.

Mark and Carol were inseparable and spent their lives participating and visiting craft fairs, rides around the Finger Lakes and stopping at various wineries. Mark was fascinated by his Native American ancestry and spent time learning all that he could.

Mark understood the value of family and was a devoted son. You could always count on him to be there when you needed him. He and Carol spent many hours caring for his parents, enjoying holidays, and watching the Yankees. Mark could tell stories and talk to you like he knew you forever, even if you just met. Once you met Mark you knew how good natured and sincere he was.

Mark was an avid football & lacrosse player during his Boonton High School years. Mark was a lifelong hockey player, and played goalie weekly for the Adirondack Over 30 Hockey League at the Cool Insuring Arena.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carol Vaillancourt; his parents: Jack and Lillian Vaillancourt; two brothers: David and his wife Maureen, Fred and his wife Sue; one sister: Jacklynn & Dan. Mark has many nieces, nephews, grandniece and grandnephews who he loved dearly. He is also survived by cousins, too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be held at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne on Saturday April 14, 2018 from 2-6pm.

Burial will be private in Day Center Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in Mark's memory be made to Double H Ranch, 97 Hidden Valley Road, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 or The Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern NY Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
