Corinth
Kenneth R. Petteys, Sr., 76, a lifelong resident of Corinth, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 16, 2018 at his home following a long illness.
Born on March 9, 1942 in Corinth, he was the son of the late George and Edna (Bullard) Petteys. He attended Corinth Central School.
Ken married Caroline Allen on February 6, 1964 in the town of Day. Mrs. Petteys died on April 20, 2014.
Ken worked for many years for the Village of Corinth DPW.
His enjoyments included driving his tractor, visiting with friends and family and his beloved Chihuahuas.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Caroline Petteys; a son, Kenneth Petteys, Jr.; a brother, Donald Petteys.
Survivors include his children: Debbie (David Grant, Jr.) Guilder of Hadley, David Petteys of Corinth, Steven (Sharon Avery) Petteys of Corinth, Michael Petteys of Corinth, Fred (Yvette Ovitt) Petteys of Corinth; Randy Ovitt of Corinth, whom he loved like a son; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister: Shirley Eldridge; step brother, Eugene Petteys of Hadley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Prayers will be offered at 12 noon.
Burial will follow in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
