Kathryn Rose (Ross) Thomas, age 70, passed away at her home Friday morning, June 22, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
Born on November 12, 1947 at Glens Falls Hospital to the late Francis and Janette (Gill) Ross.
Kathy went to a one-room school house (District #4) on Lanphear Road, then went on to graduate from Hadley Luzerne in 1966.
She married Lowell F. Thomas, Sr. on June 9, 1973.
Kathy started working for the Warrensburg-Lake George (The Sun) News. Then she was a waitress at various restaurants around the Lake Luzerne and Warrensburg area. She was also a cook/clerk at Hap's in Stony Creek for a number of years.
She enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, flower gardening, making quilts, crocheting, and taking care of her home and kids, grandchildren, and loving up the little great grandkids.
Besides her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her husband Lowell of 44 years and her "Big Bro", Stan.
She is survived by her children, Michele Ross of Warrensburg, Robert E. (Tammy) Rounds, Jr. of Stony Creek, Sarah (Todd) Rounds of Union Center, SD; her step children: Lowell (Suzanne) Thomas, Jr. of Africa, Bonnie Wren, Michael (Terri) Thomas and Richard (Karen) Thomas all of Virginia. Kathy is also survived by her little sister, "Sue" (Willie") Williamson and her "always will be" sister-in-law, Shirley Ross Fosberry; her Mohawk outlaw, Rhonda and her good friend and sister-in-law, Pat; her brother-in-law, Walt Thomas. Between "his, mine and ours", she had 18 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
At Kathy's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Kathy and Lowell will be buried together with military honors for Lowell at a private graveside service in Corinth Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
