Joan M. Zimmermann

Joan M. Zimmermann, 88, of Hadley, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on October 15, 1929 in Little Falls, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Moody) Eckert.  The family moved to Hadley when she was a small child.
She graduated from Hadley Luzerne Central School and Albany State College.

She married Albert Zimmermann on November 25, 1954 at the Church of the Holy Infancy, Lake Luzerne.

Joan was a teacher at Ticonderoga and Hadley Luzerne Central School before she and Al started their family.

She enjoyed downhill skiing, playing tennis, quilting, knitting, sewing, baking and a good cup of tea. She played piano, and organ at Holy Infancy Church.  Joan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Her family meant the world to her.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Beverly Bilbo.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Albert Zimmermann; her children: Tom Zimmermann of Charlottesville, VA, Patti Zimmermann (Kevin McMurtry) of Queensbury, Mark (Tammy) Zimmermann of Asheville, NC, Mary (Jay) Feit of Clifton Park;  grandchildren: Kris (Dawn), Moriah, Tiara, Rachael, Kyle (deceased), Brianna, Isabella, Liam, Shannon, Amber, Caleb, Allison, Hannah, Katie, Jennifer and Ryan; great grandchildren, Skyler, Mila, Alexandra, Amaya, Lexi, Connor, Nate, Noah, Drew, Zella, Clara and Willow.

There are no calling hours scheduled.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Mother and Child Parish, Lake Luzerne with Rev. Ken Swain, pastor, officiating.

Immediately following the funeral mass, friends are invited to gather with the family in the church hall for refreshments.

Burial will be 2:30p.m. Thursday, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Corinth.
