Harold F. Vanderwarker, 79, of Route 9N, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his home.
Born December 26, 1939 in Pottersville, he was the son of the late Harry U. and Nancy (Burch) Vanderwarker. He was a graduate of Corinth High School. He served in the United States Army and was a commander of an underground missile base.
On March 22, 1962, he married Judy Milligan in Corinth.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Harold began his career as an instrument electrician at International Paper Company in Corinth. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the mill. He also operated his own general electrician business, Pete’s Electrical.
Harold was a member and past master of St. Johns Lodge (Unity Lodge) #22 Free & Accepted Masons as well as past Grand Master of New York State. He was a member of the South Corinth United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was known to be able to fix just about anything.
He was predeceased by his parents; two infant daughters; a son, Jerry Vanderwarker; two brothers, Larry Vanderwarker and Ed Potter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Vanderwarker; three sons: Peter (Kimberly) Vanderwarker of Corinth, Eric (Nora) Vanderwarker of Corinth, Ralph Vanderwarker of Corinth; six grandchildren: Jared, Amber, Lance, Amanda, Steven and Brian; one great grandson, Xander; two brothers, Keith (Trish) Vanderwarker) of Georgia and Harry Vanderwarker of Lake Luzerne; several nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony in Harold’s honor will be held at his home with his loving family.
His final resting place will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
