Edith E. Johnson, age 89, of Fodder Rd., passed away Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 at Elderwood at North Creek.

Born on December 19, 1928 in Astoria, Queens, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine (Falvey) Mitchell. She was a graduate of Bayside High School and had been employed at New York Telephone.

Edith Married Robert F. Johnson on June 17, 1950 in Flushing, Queens. They retired to Stony Creek.

Her enjoyments included reading, gardening, ice-skating, flowers and artwork.

She was predeceased by two brothers: Ken and Sam and two sons-in-law: Ernie and Chris

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Elizabeth of Mahopac, Nancy of Chestertown; four sons: Brian and his wife Jaye of Montpelier, Robert F. Jr. and his wife Ket of Saudi Arabia , Kevin and his wife Joan of Scotts Valley, California, Gregory of Fort Pierce, Florida; one sister, Beth Gilmartin and her husband Gene of Long Island; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Edith's wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.

Contributions in Edith's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family wishes to thank all the staff of Elderwood at North Creek (formerly Adirondack Tri County Nursing Home) for all the years of care and support while "Rusty" was a resident there.
