Lake Luzerne
Barbara L. Perry, 75, of Fenway Dr., passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Born on November 19, 1943 in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Gluck) Dumont. She was a graduate of Dunellen High School.
On April 19, 1969, she married Raymond S. Perry at St. John’s Church in Dunellen, NJ. Their reception was held at the Redwood Inn in Martinsville, NJ. They moved to Lake Luzerne in 1977.
Barbara has worked as a travel agent, a beautician and a florist. She and Ray purchased hardware stores in Lake Luzerne and Lake George and built a third store in Fort Edward. They had sold the store in Lake George as well as the one in Fort Edward and continued to run The Hardware Store in Lake Luzerne. Barbara served two terms as a Lake Luzerne Town Councilperson.
Barbara was artistic enjoying sewing, ceramics, decorating, photography and oil painting. She loved spending time with her family, especially at her favorite place, Discovery Beach Resort in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Raymond S. Perry; her daughter, Barbara (Frank) DeNardo of Queensbury; her son, Raymond A. (Denise) Perry of Lake George; four grandchildren: Richard Lancette, Lizzy Lancette, Max Perry and Milo Perry.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield, NJ.
