Hadley
James C. Aldrich, 77, of Hadley Hill Road, passed away Tuesday evening, January 23, 2024, at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center following a long illness.
Born on November 22, 1946, in Corinth, he was the son of the late Alton B. and Myrtle (Gilbert) Aldrich. He was a 1966 graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
Jay worked as a laborer for Saratoga County Highway Department for many years. He later worked on the Highway Department for the Town of Day.
He married Judith Wilcox on July 17, 1988, on Hadley Hill.
Jay enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, raising sheep, cutting wood, riding his side by side. He also enjoyed photography. He was a life member of the VFW in Hadley.
He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Pat Aldrich.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Aldrich; sister: Sandra (Edward “Pete”) Bennett of Hadley; stepchildren: Douglas Snowball of South Glens Falls, Matthew Snowball of Saratoga Springs, Susan Blanchard of Corinth, Timothy Blanchard, and Scott Greenwood both of Wyoming; three step grandchildren: Felicia Snowball, Kyle Snowball and Claire Snowball; step great grandchildren: Madelyn, Karalynn, Noah and Kyle, Jr.; sister-in-law, Joan (Ray) Mosher of Corinth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2 p.m.
